David and Kris Gill opened their business in Lawton in 1987 and did their first art show the following year. They use their combined skills and talent to do about 15 to 20 art shows per year.
Between art shows, Kris, who earned her "Certified Picture Framer" designation in 1988, concentrates on the framing portion of the business. Kris was the second in the state of Oklahoma to pass the test. Kris and her framing employees bring almost 30 years of combined framing experience to the business, so you can be assured you get the highest quality workmanship, and you also get excellent advice based on experience when it comes to framing options and choices.
David, who entered his first darkroom in 1972, brings the photography experience to the business. After using a wet professional color and B&W darkroom for 20 years, he converted to digital in 2005. While digital opened new horizons in creativity, David is a firm believer that equipment and software are no substitute for skill and experience. The foundation for an excellent image is excellent photography.
Gill's Custom Frame and Photo is a full line distributor for Larson Juhl Molding. They also carry Decor, Studio, Crossroads, Max, Roma, Wall, AMPF and Nurre Caxton. They use conservation materials, including conservation mat, backing and glass for the preservation and protection of your art.
